Love the New England Patriots or hate them, they've done something that no other football team has ever done . . . they've have a perfect season, going 18-0.One reason for their success is quarterback, Tom Brady's inner knowing, his Inner Samurai strength. His quotation below says it all:
Don't let other people tell you what you're capable of. As long as you believe in yourself and work hard to achieve whatever you set your mind to, you just keep plugging away. It may not be up to your timetable, but you can get it done.
One of the things I like about this quotation is that he does not allow other people to define him. He determines what he is capable of, what he can do. That's Inner Samurai conviction.
What part of Tom's quote do you like best?

My favorite part of the quote is when Brady says, "It may not be on your timetable..." Sometimes we can get impatient waiting for what we want to come to us. Brady reminds us that The Universe doesn't watch the clock the way we do. Things unfold for our own highest good at the right time.

Agreed, Mary Ellen, that part of Tom's quote resonated with me, too. The other part I liked was "keep plugging away." He didn't say plodding away, he said plugging. As in, going after something in a steady, consistent manner.
How easy it is for us to give up too soon, or think that just because we don't have the success we want by a certain time that we never will. Plugging away and releasing the "should" timetable are words to the wise.

One thing about people like Tom Brady... Others often look at them and think they're just "lucky." Tom has looks and tons of talent, so people assume success couldn't come to them the way it has to him. He's "special." But Tom's own quote shows that he doesn't believe that at all. He says the same "method" works for everyone: believing in yourself, staying focused, and allowing things to unfold in their own time.

Yes, yes, yes! Fabulous insght and comment, Mary Ellen! Believe in yourself, stay focused, and allow things to unfold in their own time is the recipe for success. And as you said . . . for everyone. No exception. Thanks for stopping by!
